You must record the machine and labor times spent on the work orders. This lets you establish statistics about the machines and labor use.
An activity code must be indicated for every production reporting transaction.
Activity codes have two digits. According to the first one the treatment will be different:
• Codes from 00 to 09 correspond to effective production: you may enter quantities of parts, machine times and labor times.
• Codes from 10 to 19 correspond to activities of machine preparation or setup: one will enter then only from the machine and labor times but not quantities.
• Codes from 20 to 89 correspond to non productive production activities, for instance, preparations or machine setups, material wait or quality downtime: so you may enter only machine and labor times.
• Codes from 90 to 99 correspond to labor occupation out of manufacturing (handling, cleaning, and so on): you may only enter labor times.
Examples:
• 00 : Production
• 10 : Setup
• 21 : Waiting for handling
• 90 : Handling
