Component Backflushing

The Backflushing drop-down list of the Routings tab of a manufactured item enables to control the way in which the component issues of of the open W.O.’s are recorded. It appears only for the manufactured items.

To avoid many entries of component issues, one can activate an automatic issue either when quantities of products are finished and enter into stock, or when one reports quantities completed on an operation and that one bound components to an routing operation.

The Backflushing drop-down list has three options:·

None: the components for this item must issued manually by the Component Issue transaction component of the Control menu

W.O.: the requirements in components for a W.O. for this item will be backflushed, i.e. it will be useless to perform manual issues of the components. Those will be issued from stock automatically while entering quantities for the parent item.

Operation: the components attached to an operation are automatically issued when quantities are reported on the operation. The components not attached to an operation are at the entry the W.O. into stock. Linking components to an operation is done on the Product Structure Maintenance page.

In there are rejects during manufacturing, backflushing carries out the issues only for the good quantities. The components included in the rejected items did not leave the reserved quantity automatically. It is thus advisable to manually carry out the necessary regularizations.

When closing a W.O., the reserved quantities which have nor been issued are returned into in available inventory.
