The financial journals are the entry means for financial transactions. All transactions are entered via a journal.
Several types of journals exist and the way the transactions are entered depends on which type of journal is used.
Prelude ERP handles different types of automatic transactions linked to the inventory transactions manually entered. All the automatically processed transactions are recorded in the journal INVT. This journal is reserved for this type of transactions.
During the yearly closing, closing balance transactions are created in the journal OPBL for each account. No manual transaction can be processed in the OPBL journal.
Forbidden accounts
For each journal, it is possible to define up to 10 forbidden accounts (i.e. accounts for which no transactions can be processed in the journal).
For example, for a journal associated to sales, one can forbid the processing of transactions related to capital accounts (Class 1).
For each entry on a journal, it is checked that the indicated account does not belong to the list of forbidden accounts.
When a forbidden account is a group account type, all the accounts included in this group account are automatically forbidden.
