Every item is referred to using a single code; it is recommended to use the same length for all the codes.
Several data are associated with every item. Various codes let you classify and manage items automatically. All this information is saved in the item record. The window is tailored according to the type of item and type of information to enter.
The Description, Extra description, Drawing number, Weight and Price fields can be entered freely. No check is performed.
The other fields, referred to by blue labels, contain codes, which must be entered in the tables. You will not be allowed to validate any Item record if the required codes have not been previously created in the tables.
You must also define for every item the number of decimals you want to keep in the bill of material links, in inventory management (0 by default) and in the prices and costs (2 by default).
