In each distribution center, the inventory policy which is implemented for the different items has to be defined. This means that one must specify the rules of management, i.e. the mode of restocking of the distribution center by the plant.
The window of definition of these rules of management can be reached either from the Item window, Distrib. Ct button (Technical Data menu), or from the Reorder policy function of the Distribution menu.
To enter the item reorder policy, one selects a distribution center in the drop-down list and afterwards an item code. If the item reorder policy is already entered, it is displayed, otherwise the item is supposed to be managed according to manual management.
The item reorder policies available at the level of the distribution centers are identical to those available at the plant level. For an exhaustive description of these policies, see the section Reorder Policy and Lot Sizing Rules of the Planning chapter.
The % in total sales field appears only
if the S&Op Plans function is activated in the Preferences
window (Technical Data menu). It allows the automatic calculation of the
sales forecasts for each distribution center via the disaggregation of the
master sales plan of the family (S&O Plan menu). The forecast for the
different sold items for each period and each distribution center is equal to
the forecast that appears in the Sales plan of the family item
(S&O Plan menu) multiplied by
- the coefficient of the item sold in the family (which is reproduced on the commercial BOM of the family item)
- and by the percentage in the total sales which is reproduced on the Reorder Policy window of the item sold for the distribution center.
If the sum of the coefficients of distribution between distribution centers is lower than 100%, the remainder is affected to the central site.
