Planned to Firm Work-Order Conversion

One-by-one conversion of planned work orders issued by the MRP procedure (into firm work orders) can be long and tiresome

Once the planned work orders have been analyzed and considered as acceptable, it is possible to proceed to an automatic conversion of planned orders into firm orders.

It is important to note that it is usually senseless to convert planned orders in the distant future. Unexpected sales orders, for example, can modify the requirements and demand a new MRP calculation.

Therefore it is sensible to transform planned orders over a period of time closely corresponding to the manufacturing cycle of the items.

The Planned to Firm WO Conversion function asks for a deadline. The planned orders whose release date is before this date will be automatically converted into firm orders, the resulting requirements of the components will also be changed into firm requirements (FR type).

One can limit the WO conversion between two planning groups by means of the drop-down lists.

Firm work orders can be reached from the Scheduling menu.
