Each of these seven cost types of a routing is equal to the sum of the corresponding cost types for the sequence of the routing operations. All these costs are computed by the Routing costs calculation procedure which the user starts by clicking on the Costs button in the Routing window or in the Operations window. Usually, they represent unitary costs determined from the standard batch quantity entered in the Routing window. The routings costs are used to calculate the costs of the manufactured items.
Again, standard routing costs are computed according to the selected cost elements during the last costs calculation (from the Items Costs Rollup function, Costing menu), with the Standard costs update option selected. The selected elements can be displayed by placing the mouse cursor over these fields:
The splitting of the standard cost into fixed and variable costs is also presented. As explained above, the fixed costs come mainly from machine and labor setup times whereas the variable costs come from machine and labor run times.
The list of the routings costs can be printed by selecting the Routing costs report of the Technical data section on the Reports window.
