To manage the inventories, you must firstly define the warehouses in which items can be stocked. In most plants, a company does not stock raw material and finished goods in the same warehouse.
Every warehouse where products can be stored has to be defined in the warehouse table.
The warehouse WH is automatically created.
A warehouse code must be defined for each item (except for the Phantom, Family and Resource Item types).
The warehouse must be indicated for every inventory transaction.
The Not
available for MRP checkbox indicates that the inventory in the warehouse
will not be taken into account in the Materials Requirements Planning
procedure.
The Number
of Cells field specifies the number of pallets the warehouse can
accommodate. This capacity can be compared to the number of pallets stored in
the warehouse or required due to production planning. The required number of
pallets is calculated from the Quantity per pallet field on the Item
Maintenance window.
The Warehouse Cost Center enables one to
record the cost center associated to the inventory
transactions.
