• functional for the engineering
department (E),

frozen to the date of establishment of the budget (B).
The MRP calculation procedure uses the manufacturing bills of material (M).
The engineering bills of material (E) let you define a functional decomposition of the products and not a decomposition according to the manufacturing process.
The Frozen bills of material (B) are bills of material set at the budget date (for instance, January the 1st). They are established by selection of the product structure records of the manufacturing bill of material at a date specified by the Frozen Data Creation function. You cannot modify them.
