For the Manufacturing type BOM, one can define several variants, i.e. several decompositions of the same item. For example, if due to overload or breakdown of an equipment, one decides to buy a component instead of manufacturing it, one must define two different items (one of Manufactured type, the other of Purchased type) and one must describe two BOMs. These BOM variants are identified by a code which must be defined in the BOM Variant Table.
