nL GL Transaction Maintenance

The GL Transaction Maintenance page permits one to consult, enter or modify financial transactions in the different journals. When a transaction is validated in the page, with the OK button, the associate accounts are updated.

The first step is the selection of the journal from which the transaction will be extracted (or in which the transaction will be entered). The journal can be selected from the drop down list. The operations and related entries can change as a function of the journal type.

For a Financial journal, the counterpart account will be automatically displayed. The entered transactions will not be balanced. A consideration will be automatically recorded in the counterpart asset for the total amount.

For a Purchases or a Sales journal, the denomination type, the denomination number and the description are recorded in the first line. They will be reported automatically in the following lines.

For a Misc. Operations journal, each cell has to be filled in.

Information recorded in the automatic transactions journal cannot be manually changed.

A transaction can be displayed (or changed) by entering the transaction number in the page. The standard buttons can then be used.

The date and the lines of the transaction are displayed.

In order to change a line, it is necessary to click on the line in the page. The content of each cell is transferred in an entry cell via which changes can be entered. The changed line can be validated by the OK button (or by the Enter key). Any change can be cancelled by the Cancel button (or by the Esc key).

A new transaction is generated by clicking on the New button. A new transaction number is created.

The financial date is the current date (by default). It can be manually changed.

To create a transaction, one can exploit predefined templates (that can be accessed by clicking on the Template button). The templates list is displayed. A given template is accessed by clicking in the list and by validating by OK. The lines are transferred into the table. The lines can then be modified.
