Mass Replacement of a component

The ‘Mass Replacement’ function lets you automatically modify or create product structure records when a component (purchased or manufactured), where-used, must be replaced by another one from a given date.

The procedure is as follows:

      Select an item to replace and the bill of material variant on which the replacement has to be done.

      Click on the Replace button. The window title is modified to “Item replacement…”; the Delete button is transformed into Cancel button to allow you to cancel the replacement procedure.

      Enter the code of the replacing item.

      Enter a date of effect of the replacement.

      Click again on the Replace button.

The system modifies the dates of validity of the previous links on the old component number by placing the end date of validity to the day before the replacement date.

The system creates links for the new component with a validity start date equal to the specified date of replacement and a end date equal to the end date of the link for the old component.
