Stocking unit and purchasing unit

You have to define, in this table, every unit of measure that can be used either for internal use or for the relationships with the vendors.

A stocking unit must be defined for each item. This is the item unit of measure for internal use.

However, an item can be managed in feet even if it is bought in rollers of 250 feet by one vendor and in pounds by another. To order, you must specify a purchasing unit. The unit conversion ratio used for the purchase in the stocking unit is indicated in the link between an item and a vendor (see Vendor Catalogue Maintenance).
