Transfer Order Shipping

After the required items have been manufactured by the plant, they are transported in the plant warehouse. Afterwards, they can be forwarded to the distribution centers according to the requests defined in the current transfer orders.

This transfer process is managed via the Transfer Order Shipping function (Distribution menu).

The different steps of the procedure are the following :

•      selection of the distribution center to be delivered

•      choice of the departure date (the current date is proposed by default)

•      the date of arrival is proposed by default by adding to the departure date the transportation time towards the distribution center. The firm and in-transit transfer orders whose shipping date is greater or equal to the departure date are displayed.

•      to select the order to be dispatched, it is necessary to click on the corresponding line. A cross then appears in the Shp column and the total quantity dispatched for the item is posted in last column, namely the Tot Shp column. It is worth noting that if the inventory is insufficient, one can accept a partial forwarding within the limit of stock available (the P letter appears in the Shp column). The corresponding weight and the number of pallets are calculated. One can "deselect" a transfer order by clicking again on this line.

•      Afterwards, one has to click on the OK button to confirm the shipping of the selected orders. Once a partial forwarding has been carried out for an order, this order has an "in transit" status.

The orders can be received in the distribution center by the Transfer Order Receiving function.
