We distinguish four work center types:
• Finite capacity work centers (F type) are composed of one or several machines. In the finite capacity scheduling procedure, every machine will be used for a detailed order scheduling.
• Finite capacity multiple work centers (M type) composed of one or more work stations that are not identified; you may define the number of available work stations. In the scheduling order, the number of individual work stations indicated in the capacity ratio (numbered from 1 to n), will be created.
• Infinite capacity work centers (I type). Here, the work loads are not monitored or controlled.
• Sub contracting work
centers (S type). Here, the run times are independent of the batch
size and are expressed in days; the work loads are not monitored.
